Antonio Caginelli is a young architect who was born in Pisa in 1964 and settled in Paris in 1990. Here he began developing three dimensional art, objects made of transparent materials presenting industrial and ephemeral characteristics to convey vanity. Like many of his other designs, the Lightness Basket displays his key industrial and airy artistic qualities. The piece is inspired by the common washer used in mechanical engineering. It is made up of many of these pieces in different sizes fretworked together in an interesting multi-dimensional pattern. Elegance and engineering are truly combined in this 18/10 stainless steel piece, available in a mirror-polished or black epoxy coated finish.
