Comments about Demeyere Apollo 83oz Whistling Kettle:

Having gone through 3 kettles in one year, I was willing to pay top dollars for this Belgian kettle because it sounded solid, did not have any plastic, wooden, or moving parts which could melt or break, and it carried a 30-year warranty. As it turns out, it does look very good (i.e. stylish) and made to last a long time. Unfortunately, it also has some serious design flaws: 1)the whisling cap often flies out when the water is boiling and steam starts building up inside the kettle; 2)contrary to the manufacturers' claim, the handle gets too hot to grasp without a pot holder.
