Egg cups appear to be non-stick but they are not. They must be soaked before they can be cleaned enough for another use. Newly cooked eggs do not release from the cups and need to be scooped out with a utensil. I threw out an inexpensive poacher for these same reasons and while this one is is a quality product in every other way, it is not "non-stick".
