Does not get hot enough across the whole

Comments about Napoleon Prestige II Freestyle Portable Tube Burner Gas Grill:

Does not get hot enough. Only the right side of the grill, where the round cutout is, does it get hot enough to cook a burger. Shouldn't there be more cutouts? I assume that plate is to protect the burners from getting drips but it stops the heat! Is my unit defective?
