Originally from Italy, Picnic Time's creators, Mario Tagliati and Gustavo Cosaro, have long been aficionados of good food, good wine, and good company. They've made it their business to bring a little bit of La Dolce Vita to all of us.
Former owners of a successful gourmet and wine store, famous for its holiday gift baskets, they sought to create a unique line of gifts that could be sold year round. They introduced a series of traditional high-quality picnic baskets in 1982 and before long, other retailers were clamoring to purchase wholesale baskets for their own stores. Picnic Time was born!
In 1987, they created the world's first insulated picnic backpack and have continued to pioneer the most innovative picnic products ever since. Whether it's a sporty picnic backpack, rolling cooler, premium wine case, or romantic basket, Picnic Time puts a touch of style and Italian flair back into the age old tradition of dining al fresco.
Picnic Time is dedicated to the belief that picnics are a joy to the soul; they allow us to reconnect with nature and savor the company of friends and family. You'll find there is no better way to create lasting memories and energize your spirit. Picnic Time can take you there.
Mario and Gistavo's mission to bring romance and tradition to picnicking in America continues into its twenty-fifth year with over 275 exciting styles. They invite you to experience that life really is a picnic when you choose Picnic Time products.
Buon appetito!

Comments about Picnic Time Highlander Picnic Basket:
The rattan used for the construction of this basket is thin, and I foresee it breaking and cracking after a few years of use. I saw an earlier version of this product that was made of much higher quality and sturdier rattan, so I am not sure why they changed the design.\n \nOverall, I chose this particular basket for the wine and cheese accessories- corkscrew, wine tote, cheese board and cheese knife, etc. \n\nAdditionally, being a fan of organization, I liked the pockets for the accessories. However, the utensil pockets are EXTREMELY tight and makes getting them out and putting them in treacherous. You must yank them out and stuff them in.\n\nThe blanket is nice, but is made of wool. I am not sure why they chose that fabric. It is also a bit small. \n\nI have received compliments on the look of the basket and I like to do everything in style, so this suited my needs and wants for a newer picnic basket to replace my older, broken one.
