I have had this coffeepot for the last 6 months and it gets used daily. My hubby makes pots of coffee and I make espresso's.
My son recently dropped the carafe so I got on the West Bend site and ordered a new one. You can replace most of the parts, which is an added bonus!
I love that you can set the length of time you want the coffee to stay warm and it is programmable.

My sis and I both enjoy the size of the carafe for our coffee Or tea. We both drink a good deal of both. We often us it just to heat water>>because I love cocoa. Just wish the pot would keep the contents HOT much longer. The making time could be shortened (YES?) We have just boken the carafe and are having a hard time finding a replacement. Just need the carafe guys - any chance of getting a response from you about this issue?
Basically though we very much enjoy this item. Only use the regular coffee side. Sorry, know nothing about the fancy coffee side.:)

I purchased my initial unit in 2006. It lasted 9 months prior to the heating element failing on the expresso maker. I replaced the unit and the same thing happened with the 2nd unit. What the instuctions fail to tell you is that you should immediately turn off the unit following use; otherwise the heating element on the expresso maker appears to burn out.
