As he was developing this new Dino Collection of vases the designer was reminded of “dinosaur eggs that seemed to increase in size by their own power.” The visual metaphor is enhanced by the granular, mottled surface, a new technique worked out by artist and the master glassmakers of Kosta Boda (and employed in our Reef series, as well). The Dino vases glow with a deep iridescence that induces meditations on deep time. Who wouldn’t treasure a dinosaur egg!
