The Global GF Series Collection knives which feature drop-forged knives, ie the hot metal has been hammered into dies. The knives in this series have a blade and collar that is forged as one piece and feature internal welding in the handle for added strength. The advantage of forging is that it improves the strength of the metal by aligning and stretching the grain structure. A forged part will normally be stronger than a casting or a machined piece.
